Wedding
Nerves
Don't Let Them Spoil
Your Day
Your Wedding Day should be
one of the best days of your life. Getting it as near
perfect as possible can lead to one of the most stressful
times in your life. There is so much to organise and so
much to potentially go wrong.
Brides frequently get spots or a skin rash in the runup
to the big day. This can be caused by a different skin
preparation regime or it could be the result of Wedding
Stress. Both causes can be eliminated with careful
planning.
Think very carefully about what you really want. You
cannot start this too early. Once you decide to get
married start visiting Wedding Exhibitions. Talk there to
dressmakers, florists, wedding planners, limousine hirers,
hairdressers, beauticians, caterers and the rest. Get
ideas and prices. Decide what you want then Plan Ahead.
Employ a Wedding planner or plan it yourself but Start
Early. This way you will reduce nerves or illness caused
by last minute stress or panic.
List everything you need to plan and keep updating the
list as things change. Allow time in the plan for
practice sessions with the vicar, hairdresser, beautician,
and dressmaker.
Make sure you are happy with your makeup. Experiment well
in advance. This will avoid an unexpected skin irritation
or red blotches on the big day. If in doubt, seek the
advice of a good beautician.
When practicing your hairstyle with your hairdresser,
take your veil, tiara, and any other hair decorations
with you to ensure they give you the look you desire. If
you can't explain your ideas take pictures with you. You
could get carried away when you first see yourself so get
photo's of your chosen style to look at later. If in
doubt go back - consultations are usually free.
Allow time within your plan for the unpredictable. One
thing which is totally predictable is that the
unpredictable will happen. When it does - don't panic.
Make a list of jobs you can delegate to others. Choose
people you can really rely on, tell them exactly what you
want - then leave it to them - and relax.
As the big day approaches allow increasingly more me time
to recharge your batteries. Most importantly, get plenty
of good, sound sleep. Choose a comfortable bed in a room
at a comfortable temperature, with the lights out or
dimmed. Either sleep in silence or play a relaxation
recording. Close your eyes. Inhale deeply through your
nose to fill the entire volume of your lungs, exhale
completely through your mouth. Breathe naturally - Don't
force it. Repeat this cycle for several minutes or until
you feel relaxed. If you feel dizzy or light headed
return to normal shallow breathing for a few minutes
before trying again.
Get plenty of fresh air. Walk briskly for 15 to 20
minutes, once or twice each day. This is more beneficial
than a hard workout in a gym.
Eat healthily. A cereal at breakfast releases energy
steadily throughout the day and improves performance.
This will be particularly useful on the wedding day. Eat
your five a day of fruit and vegetables. Take proper
meals rather than constantly grazing on snacks. Sit down,
don't eat on the move. If you eat and drink excessively
or too richly at the hen party make certain you have a
few days of sensible nutrition to get your system
stabilised before you walk down the aisle.
